At the heart of Sexperiments is a curiosity to bring science into the bedroom for the sake of improving orgasms and arousal. For March, we really put that to the test by asking Lioness users to drink responsibility to see what happens to their orgasms.
Our hypothesis? Well, the research on alcohol says arousal shouldn’t improve, but let’s see where users and their data fell:
A Quick review of the Lioness community poll & hypotheses
Each Sexplorer was prompted to formulate a hypothesis and vote in a poll before beginning their Sexperiment. Community Poll: How often do you drink before masturbation? Unsurprisingly, a majority of Lioness users — a whopping 53% — said they drink before masturbation sometimes.

The remaining 47% were split almost in half with 23% saying often and 24% saying never.
Hypothesis: How will mutual masturbation affect your Os?
Lioness users were given three choices for this hypothesis: Get Better, Stay the Same, or Get Worse.
This month, we saw almost half cast their vote for yes, alcohol will improve my arousal and orgasms.

The Results: Shorter Orgasms, Longer Latency
Responsibly drinking had a marked negative affect on arousal and orgasms for Lioness users. Here’s what the data showed:
- The average orgasm length decreased from 43 seconds to 29 seconds
- The average time to orgasm increased to 7 minutes 40 secs minutes (compared to 4 min 59 secs in solo sessions)
- Overall average session length increased to 11 mins 59 seconds (compared to 7 min 49 secs in baseline sessions)

The Conclusion: Alcohol isn’t great for orgasms
It looks like the science of alcohol and sex rings true: orgasms are not objectively improved by drinking. Latency increasing and orgasm duration decreasing are good indications of less pleasurable experiences — but the data is still anecdotal! If you’re over 21 and can do so, consider having a drink and having some solo time to see what it’s like for you.
