People are talking about sex everywhere; with friends, on social media, and even in sex podcasts. Podcasters are disclosing more details than ever and there seems to be a sex podcast out there for everyone. Whether you’re interested in listening to a funny sex podcast, an informative one, or something in between, you’re bound to find something that works for you.
If you need a starting point, here are five sex podcasts we highly recommend giving a shot:
How I Fck
How I Fck takes a different angle about sex by highlighting people’s sexual experience that don’t fit what society defines as the “norm.”
Natalie Rivera, the show's creator and host, brings guests in to discuss topics like navigating sex as a polyamorous woman with herpes or as a blind woman, etc. The podcast is a great exploration of “sexuality and human connection through relatable stories from people of all backgrounds, communities, identities, experiences, and lifestyle.”
This podcast can be found on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Google Podcasts.
Dying for Sex
Dying for Sex podcast embodies carpe diem in flesh and blood.
After co-host Molly is diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer, she changes her entire life by leaving her unhappy marriage and exploring sex. Before her passing, she takes listeners on a journey with her and her best friend/co-host, Nikki Boyer. Although Molly has since passed away and the podcast no longer produces new episodes, it’s a great reminder that we control our own lives.
This podcast is available on Spotify, Amazon, Apple Podcast, and Wondery.
Shameless Sex is co-hosted by Amy, a sex & relationship coach and sex educator, and April, a motivational speaker, sex toy mogul, and leading woman in the sex toy industry. The two know a lot about what they are talking about, and their podcast promotes sexual empowerment by providing a shame-free space where they share real life experiences. Listen in as they discuss everything from the g-spot to anal and more.
This podcast can be found on Apple, Spotify, Stitcher, and Youtube.
Future of Sex
Future of Sex revolves around sex and tech and how the two are merging together as time goes by. This podcast takes a more informative approach by interviewing experts and asking questions about the “Future of Sex.” Host Bryony Cole takes listeners on a journey to question what they’ve have internalized, such as the male gaze, to deconstruct these preconceived notions of sex that are not inclusive.
This podcast is available on Spotify, Google Podcast, and Apple Podcast.
My Dad Wrote A Porno
This podcast is exactly what the title says. Jamie Morton found out his dad wrote a pornographic book series so, with the help of his friends, he started a podcast in which he reads it. The pornographic book series is titled Belinda Blinked the and was authored by his father (obviously!) under the pen name “Rocky Flintstone." Whereas most people may be uncomfortable reading smut their parents wrote, Jamie turns his experience into a laugh-out-loud podcast.
My Dad Wrote A Porno is available on Spotify.
One Final Note
Pulling sex out from under the rug and actually talking about it is long overdue. Fortunately, these sex podcasts (and many, many more!) are attempting to do exactly that. They’re taking the taboo and delivering it straight to your ears, no holds barred. So whether you need a laugh or want to question what you have been told about sex, this list covers it. Happy listening!
