Sex clubs. Pretty straight forward, right? A place for people who want to have sex openly, exploring their own sexual boundaries in a safe space. In theory, yes. But what is sexy to one person isn't necessarily what is sexy for all. The same is true for sex clubs.
Sex, and what is sexy, lies on a massive spectrum that is highly personalized to each individual person. So you can bet that when it comes to choosing the right sex club, you're going to want to find a group that aligns with what you think is sexy. We all have different things we like in sex, and just like finding the right sexual partner, it's entirely possible to find the right sex club.
If you're thinking of going to a sex club for the first time, read this article about three things to know before visiting your first one.
First, consider your comfort level—if you're ready to jump right into sex or want to find a club that moves a little more slowly. You'll also want to consider if you're looking to go as an individual or in a couple. Price point also factors in as well. So if you’re wondering where to begin when delving into the wide world of sex clubs, here are a few places to start.
Sex Clubs for Beginners
If you’ve never been to a sex club before and have no idea where to begin, there are a few places to start that can help ease you into the experience. NYC-based Lip Service, for example, is a great place for beginners to dip their toe (tongue?) in the water. Why? Because it’s JUST kissing. Hosted by House of Scorpio, a popular party group in New York, Lip Service takes place every second Friday of the month. According to their website, guests can expect sexy games, drinks, and the most epic make-out sesh you've ever had. The parties are pan-sexual, meaning don't be surprised if you are making out with, well, everyone.
For those who want to ‘go all the way’ on their first day, Behind Closed Doors helps go-getters jump into the world of sex clubs. Speaking from personal experience, each event begins with a brief "School of Sex" for first-timers who want to come and talk about any insecurities they may have before going into a sex club. The events are fun and international, with people from all over the world coming to play in a classy, “suits” environment. Its monthly parties are always held in swanky locations like private clubs and five-star penthouses.
Sex Clubs for Couples
While sex clubs in general cater aim to attract all different kinds of people, most sex clubs cater to single women and couples—whether that’s monogamous couples or swingers.
For couples who want to play with only other couples, consider Labyrinth. For NYC or Hollywood-based couples, Labyrinth advertises itself as different from other swingers or kink parties because it’s less of a party and actually more of a club. Its NYC location is open four nights a week, and its Hollywood location (which opens later this month) will be open every Saturday. There are different play areas, from group ones to semi-private, lounges, and more. The club’s marketing targets couples, but on their website they say anyone is welcome to apply.
Sex Clubs for Singles
Many people who apply to couples-themed sex clubs will run into one issue: no single men allowed. At many sex clubs, couples and single women are welcome to attend, while single men are not. Enter Intimate. This party's tagline is that the individual is more important than the relationship. The parties are—you guessed it—intimate, with no more than 40 guests at each party. Members only.
Chemistry is my personal favorite for people who are curious about going all the way, but want to do so in an environment that feels incredibly laid back. Designed like a fun, colorful art party, each Chemistry event starts with sexy performances, live music, food and more. This is all conducive to being social and mingling, which makes it easy to meet other singles, as well as couples who are looking to add a third. It's one of the most comfortable places to get naked because of the crowd it attracts. Prospective members apply through the website, and once accepted gain access to the monthly events, which are held in Brooklyn.
Sex Clubs by Price Point
Not all sex clubs are created equal in price point, either. For the most part, single women who want to go to any sex club are welcomed for free or at a heavy discount, like $20. Lip Service starts at $25 without an RSVP or $20 with. It's anywhere from free to $15 for monthly members. Labyrinth welcomes women for free until 10pm, and $20 after. Couples are $40. Chemistry tickets for women range from $20 to $60 and member couple tickets range from $130 to $200. It's a similar price point for Behind Closed Doors.
However, if your tastes run more along the lines of free-flowing champagne, Rolexes, and sexy cars, Snctm is likely the choice for you. This exclusive and pricey club has soirees in California and New York—and sometimes globally when they take to their World Tour. Snctm's standards are exceptionally high and exclusive. Not only do they screen for aesthetics, but they check for professional status as well. Tickets run at nearly $2,000 for a single man, or $1,500 with a female partner. Single women, believe it or not, don't have to pay a thing. An annual membership is about $75,000 and it gains you access to all parties, and unlimited Cristal Champagne at the parties served by a butler. Yes, you read that correctly.
